The University of New Haven provides employees discounts on products and services from various vendors to express appreciation for the valued service employees provide the University. While these programs are managed by several departments within the University, this page provides all university-wide employee discount information and links for your immediate use in one space.

Review your discount programs, by type of vendor, and pay close attention to how to access the program and who to contact with any questions.

Entering college may be one of the most important and stressful period of student life. It’s important to build the foundational knowledge high schools provide to prepare for the college experience. The University has joined with two private CT high schools to provide discounted tuition for University employees’ children.

 Notre Dame High School is an all boys private high school in West Haven, CT. They believe in character, compassion and confidence. The University has had a long-standing agreement with Notre Dame High School of West Haven to provide a reciprocal 50% discount on tuition to employees’ eligible children. Sacred Heart Academy is an all girls high school in Hamden, CT. The University engaged in a new partnership with Sacred Heart Academy this spring whereby Sacred Heart Academy will offer 50 percent tuition scholarships to qualified daughters of University faculty and staff. This scholarship award is limited to five students annually. Review their news bulletin for details of the agreement. Varsity Tutors provides learning resources and discounts on private 1-on-1 tutoring services. First time users will receive a complimentary academic needs consultation. Varsity Tutors will assess the needs and recommend an option that provides the best fit, at a 20% discount.  Options include private tutoring, live classes taught by subject matter experts, and small online group glasses, to name a few. The Beckerman Recreation Center is a 56,000-square-foot staff and student recreation center that features multi-purpose group fitness studios; weight room & fitness center; racquetball courts; hardwood activity courts; a multi-activity court; jogging track; juice bar; locker rooms; and lounge areas. LifeMart Member Discount Program is available to participants of the University medical plan through Meritain Health. Save money on all your health and wellness needs including gyms, diet plans, groceries, and wellness products and services. LifeMart also provides discounts on travel, childcare, home services, auto services, electronics and more. Register for your discounts at LifeMart. Amplifon provides participants of the University medical plan through Meritain Health with discounts on hearing care solutions including discounted hearing exams, hearing aids, and batteries. Contact Amplifon Hearing Health Care at 1-877-785-3791 for additional information. Be sure to have your Meritain Health ID card available to confirm your enrollment.

Plum Benefits offers exclusive discounts, special offers and access to fitness centers and health and wellness products. All faculty and staff are eligible for discounts through Plum Benefits. Review the Plum Benefits brochure for additional information.

Liberty Mutual provides customized insurance plans for University employees. Additionally, faculty and staff are eligible for special savings and may qualify for Liberty Mutual’s MultiCar and Multi Policy discounts. California Casualty offers University faculty and staff exclusive rates and coverages on their personal auto, home, and renters’ insurance. Campus Bookstore 

The University Campus Bookstore has a wide variety of University of New Haven themed merchandise and apparel. All faculty and staff are eligible for a 10% discount. Be sure to present your University Campus ID Card to secure your discount.

Personal Computer Purchases 

The Office of Information Technology has secured computer discounts with Dell Technologies and Apple Computer.  Visit the OIT Personal Computer Purchases page for details.

Verizon Discount

University faculty and staff are eligible for discounts cell phone through Verizon. Verizon offers 18% off shared data plan charges on a consumer bill (not offered on the unlimited plans, only the shared data plans). Visit Verizon directly for details and to request your discount.

Plum Benefits

In addition to health and fitness discounts, Plum Benefits provides discounts on products and services including travel and rental cars, appliances, movies, flowers, hotels, theme parks, and more.  All faculty and staff are eligible for discounts through Plum Benefits. LifeMart

Like Plum Benefits above, LifeMart Member Discount Program provides discounts beyond health and fitness.
