  • regulate student employment practices
  • monitor compliance with federal and state employment regulations

Student Employment Office Hours:
Monday – Friday    8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A major responsibility of the Payroll and Student Employment Offices is to remain in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations concerning University employment.  All student employees must be verified or approved by the Student Employment Office (SEO) prior to working in any department.  Failure to do so may result in fines from State or may be considered Federal Department of Homeland Security violations.  We greatly appreciate all departments working with us to help us remain in compliance by making certain:

  • students are not working prior to the availability of an online time sheet
  • students are submitting their online time sheets in a timely manner
  • student are documenting the hours for the current week only on their online time sheet

A new-hire (a student who has not worked on campus before) must complete the I-9 (U. S. Department of Homeland Security Employment Eligibility Verification Form) along with other employment forms prior to their start date.  The I-9 Form will require the new-hire to provide qualifying documents which are used to establish identity and employment authorization. After a request has been made to employ a new-hire, the Student Employment Office (SEO) will contact the student regarding the I-9 and other employment forms.
