The Office of Residential Life is dedicated to providing an atmosphere that encourages rich academic discourse, exploration of new ideas, and opportunities for residents to learn more about themselves, connect with one another, campus resources, and the world.
The new #LivingCharged Community Engagement Model aims to provide students with the ability to fully engage with their residential experience. Through intentional programming initiatives, students will be able to:
- Develop independence and become immersed in their campus experience
- Value and practice balanced wellness
- Respect and appreciate the need for diversity and inclusion
- Emerge as leaders professionally and academically
- Become engaged global citizens
To meet these goals, Office of Residential Life Staff focus programming efforts in the following areas:

ChargerBucks
ChargerBucks is an incentive program where students receive paper currency as a reward for Living CHARGED in their residence areas! Actions such as participating in programs, studying in common spaces, sharing feedback, and connecting with University resources, all help to enhance the overall quality of the residential experience.
When you receive a ChargerBuck, write your name on the back as you will be able to enter each of your earned ChargerBucks to win prizes at our ChargerBuck finale event. Residents will have an opportunity to win cool prizes and gift cards.

Passport to Charger Spirit
Students receive a program passport at the start of the academic year. Students who bring their passports during the academic year at a number of ORL Signature Programs and get your passport stamped. The more programs you attend, the more stamps you get. The more stamps received enters you into a drawing to receive your first choice at housing during the Room Selection Process!
Events include: ORL Spirit Fridays, Fall Fest, Diversity Education Programming, January Welcome Back Event, and Room Selection Info Sessions (January – March).
