  1. How do I submit my RSO’s budget?
  • During the Yearly Budget process–which traditionally happens in the spring—your RSO’s President and Treasurer will complete the Yearly Budget training and coordinate with the USGA Treasurer and USGA Assistant Treasurer. For questions specific to your RSO, email usgatreasurer@newhaven.edu
  1. What do primary representatives do?
  • Primary representatives attend USGA meetings and speak about concerns/initiatives on    the behalf of their RSO. In addition, it is expected that primary representatives bring any pertinent information received in USGA meetings back to their RSO’s members.
  1. What are some outcomes of USGA?
  • USGA frequently facilitates change amongst the university community. Some initiatives include: allocating USGA funds to the Chargers Helping Chargers campaign, advocating for a permanent pass/fail option, changing dining hall hours, etc.
  1. What are the positions of USGA and what do they do?
  • Executive Board: administrators. The e-board is in-charge of the general operations of USGA.
  • Senate: outreach. The senators represent specific demographics on campus to advocate for during meetings.
  • House Representatives: the top 20 RSOs. The House Reps. represent the voice of their RSOs’ members.
  • Liaisons: contacts. The liaisons relay information from specific departments to USGA, and then the student body.
  • General members: students. The general members are students who attend USGA meetings. Every undergraduate student is a general member, even if they only attend one meeting!
